Let’s start with BrandWell.
As mentioned earlier, setting up your BrandWell projects takes a little bit of work.
First, click “Add a new website” on your BrandWell dashboard and enter your (or your client’s) website name, URL, and target audience.
Do this for each of your clients so that all your AI-generated articles will be organized per client/website.
Next, go to the Project Settings to customize your brand profile.
On the General settings, you can link your social media accounts, add a project context, and choose a tone of voice from over 15 default options.
If you want BrandWell to generate content that really sounds like you, click the AI Training button and enter your website URL or upload sample texts to help the AI learn your writing style.
On the Automations settings, you can choose to add a Table of Contents, Key Takeaways, Clicks to Tweet, or FAQ section to every blog post the AI generates. You can do the same in the Call to Actions settings, where you can type a CTA with links to your website, and it will appear at the bottom of every article BrandWell writes for that project/client.
Finally, go to the Integrations settings and enter your login details so that BrandWell connects to your WordPress, Shopify, and Google Search Console accounts.
You only have to do this initial setup ONCE for every project. After that, generating long-form blog posts for your clients just takes two steps.
1. Choose a source for your blog post. BrandWell can generate a long-form article from a single keyword, article URL, YouTube video, podcast episode, audio file, or digital document.
2. Click “Write Article Now” and wait a few minutes for your new blog post to appear in the queue.
When your article is ready, you can begin editing it using the SEO tools on the right column and the standard toolbar at the bottom. You can also click the “Ask AI” button to pull up several content optimization options.
As you can see from the example above, BrandWell’s output is almost publish-ready. The article is already formatted for your blog, complete with an SEO title, meta description, and URL slug; an introduction and conclusion; H2-H4 headers; bullets and numbered lists; and even internal and external links!
Further down the article is a table with actual links to Google Maps, all automatically generated by BrandWell.
The only thing I did for this blog post was add a few images from the stock gallery and hit “Publish”. From entering my seed keyword to going live on WordPress, everything took less than 30 minutes.
Now, let me share with you my Rytr results.
After signing up for a free account, I was asked to personalize my experience. I chose “writing articles and marketing content.”
After clicking Next, there was a pop-up promoting Frase, which is Rytr’s counterpart for long-form content.
Finally, I reached the Rytr dashboard. On top, you will see menus for Documents, Write, Chat, and History.
All of your AI-generated content will appear on the Documents section, arranged by project folders.
Click “Write” to start creating content, or click “Chat” to talk to the Rytr chatbot.
Similar to BrandWell, you can choose a tone of voice from the presets or create your own. To do this, go to the Tools tab and click the “Create Voice” button. Enter a style, target audience, and sample of your work.
Your custom voice will appear in the Select Tone/Voice dropdown menu.
Unlike BrandWell, where the voice you create will be the default voice for all your articles in that project, you have to choose your custom voice every time you create content with Rytr.
To start writing with Rytr, click on the Choose Use Case menu and select a content format. You have plenty of templates to choose from, including blog outline, blog section, business ideas, call to action, cover letter, email, social media post, landing page, newsletter, product description, SMS, video description, and more.
Since Rytr is designed for short-form content, it cannot write a full blog article. For this review, I chose “blog idea and outline” as a use case, “Convincing” as a tone of voice, and ran the same keyword that I used in the BrandWell test article.
After clicking “Ryte for me,” this is what the AI generated:
Rytr did come up with a solid outline for my blog post, but it did not write the content automatically. You will have to build your article section by section.
I followed the Rytr tip below to add content to the first section.
And then I did the same for every section of the blog post until I got a full article.
That sure took a lot of work, and it didn’t even reach the word count I needed.
In terms of output, the article does a good job using an engaging, informative tone and well-organized structure that guides the reader through history, top bakeries, and tasting tips. But the quality could be improved by reducing repetitive language (like “tangy flavor” and “chewy texture”), enhancing transitions between sections, and sticking to an active voice to improve readability.
From an SEO perspective, the article uses relevant keywords effectively but would benefit from incorporating more keyword variations (e.g., “artisan sourdough San Francisco”), optimizing for featured snippets through bullet points, and including internal links or map embeds to local bakeries. These changes would make the article more discoverable, engaging, and useful for readers searching for the best sourdough experiences in San Francisco.
Rytr has no auto-publishing features, but you can download your article in doc or html format. There is a Rytr Chrome extension if you want to use it for writing in Gmail, Slack, Facebook, or WordPress.
My Take: Making the Choice
