AI can help an affiliate publisher organize research, prepare a draft and maintain content. It does not establish firsthand experience, verify product claims or guarantee commissions. A useful affiliate workflow combines evidence, clear disclosures and human review.

This article previously presented an individual marketer’s historical cost and ranking claims as a broadly repeatable result. The updated guide uses a practical five-step workflow in the current RankWell product without treating old prices or anecdotes as expected outcomes.

1. Choose a reader decision you can help with

Start with a question that can be answered credibly. Who is making the decision, what constraints matter and what information would prevent a poor choice?

For a fictional office-equipment publication, a useful question might be how to compare desk dimensions for a small room. Prepare a buying checklist based on actual measurements and clearly separate specifications from your own observations.

Keyword suggestions can inform the brief, but a low difficulty score is not proof of an easy ranking or profitable market. Check the actual result set, the reader’s need and what your article can add.

2. Build the evidence before asking for a draft

Gather current product specifications, eligibility, price conditions and relevant primary documentation. Record the access date and what the source actually supports. For a hands-on review, retain the test conditions, original observations and media that you have the right to publish.

Do not ask AI to invent a product trial, customer interview, comparison score or testimonial. If you have not used the item, describe the article as a specification-based guide rather than a personal review.

Use original photographs where they clarify the decision. A generated illustration can explain a concept, but it must not masquerade as evidence of a product test.

3. Draft and review the article in RankWell

Current RankWell content preparation and editorial review workflow in BrandWell
RankWell supports preparation and editing. The publisher remains responsible for evidence, disclosures and the finished recommendation.
  1. Define the audience, decision and article scope in the brief.
  2. Supply the verified source material and your own observations.
  3. Prepare a draft in RankWell with an answer, decision criteria and clear limitations.
  4. Check every specification, price reference and comparison against the evidence.
  5. Remove fabricated experience, unsupported superiority claims and repetitive sections.
  6. Approve the final content through the configured publishing workflow.

Check the current RankWell package and usage for this content work. MarketPulse’s separately stated $500/mo starting price applies to intent data, not a historical per-article content offer.

4. Make commercial relationships clear

The FTC’s Disclosures 101 guidance says brand relationships should be obvious and disclosures easy to see and understand. A hidden profile-page notice is not a useful substitute.

For your publication, explain the actual relationship in plain language where readers can evaluate the recommendation. Use the real terms of your program, not a generic disclosure that contradicts how you are paid.

Keep editorial criteria consistent whether a product pays a commission or not. Do not claim a product is suitable for everyone to increase clicks. Review promotional terms, permitted media and link handling before publishing.

5. Measure net economics and maintain the guide

Track relevant visits, outbound clicks, accepted commissions, reversals and content costs. A page’s search position or gross commission alone does not establish a profitable business.

Hypothetical month: $500 in accepted commissions minus $100 in reversals and $250 in allocated content costs leaves $150 before other expenses. This is a planning calculation, not expected income. Include actual hosting, labor, tools and other costs before assessing profit.

Inspect the article when specifications, prices, availability or program terms change. Remove broken destinations, unsupported comparisons and outdated screenshots. A smaller set of maintained guides can be a better operating choice than publishing more pages without review.

Do not use expired domains as a ranking shortcut

Google’s spam policies prohibit expired-domain repurposing primarily for ranking manipulation with little user value. An old domain does not guarantee performance.

Choose a domain that fits the actual publication. Review its history and build a useful reader experience rather than assuming old links transfer credibility to unrelated recommendations.

Common questions

Can AI write an affiliate review?

It can help prepare a draft from evidence you supply. It cannot substitute for the experience claimed in a hands-on review or the publisher’s judgment.

Can faster drafting reduce total cost?

Possibly. Measure the complete workflow, including research, editing, images and maintenance. Faster drafting does not prove that total review effort or acquisition cost fell.

Where should we start?

Choose one reader decision, assemble the evidence and use RankWell to prepare a reviewed guide. Evaluate usefulness and complete economics before increasing output.
